“I was first introduced to Marci when my wife and I concluded on purchasing a home in Florida. Marci inquired of us on what type of housing that we were looking for and from that point on, it was a constant phone and text message dialogue to address housing opportunities that recently came onto the market.
Our interactions with Marci were relatively low key. She did not push any specific properties for us to look at and was very responsive to our questions and requests to tour certain houses. During a one-week time period, we visited over a dozen homes and on the last day that we were allocating to this effort, she informed us of a home that was coming onto the market but would be only available for a one day (due to the sellers requirement to only show the house for one day and accept offers up until a 5:00 PM deadline on the same day).
For the next several hours, we exchanged phone calls to discuss the asking price and how much we should offer in relation to the market and our desire to secure this house. Marci educated us on the use of an escalation clause, which we did not have previous experience with. Marci was able to provide us with recent comparable sales analyses that supported our objective to offer more that the asking price, in an effort to increase the likelihood of us securing this house.
True to form, Marci’s advice was on point. We received the call from the Seller’s agent informing us that our offer was accepted. Since the scheduled closing date was six months away, we merely needed to provide the required down payment and await further instruction from her and the sellers. During this period of time, Marci provided further instruction on how to approach the sellers to purchase some of their furnishings since they were downsizing and most likely did not intend to move all of their furniture to their new home. She was very helpful in providing contacts for securing insurance coverage on the house, contacts for a locksmith, fence contractors, house managers (for the time that we would not be residing in the home) and other useful trades persons. All of this guidance was above and beyond the assistance provided by a typical realtor.
The date for the final walkthrough of the home was the day that Hurricane Ian was scheduled for landfall in Florida. As a consequence, we decided not to visit SE Florida and for the pre-closing final inspection. Marci suggested that she assist us with the inspection by her presence at the residence and communicating to us via Facetime. This was just one more way that Marci was able to assist us (out of state buyers), that did not have the flexibility in their schedules to work around the limitations of a severe weather event.
I would highly recommend Marci Figler Haus to provide professional real estate services to those interested in purchasing a residence on the Southeast coast of Florida.”
